THE GLOW GUIDE / RESEARCH PROFILE 04

NAD+

The “energy molecule” behind a very big promise.

NAD+ is essential to how our cells work. It is often grouped with peptides, though it is not one. What do the human studies actually say about getting more of it, and what changes when a product is injected?

REAL-LIFE RESEARCH NOTES / FROM EMILY

My research, in real life.

I’m Emily, the independent researcher behind Glow Theory. My research comes from using these compounds myself and tracking real-life observations. I’ll share what I noticed while being clear about what one person’s experience can tell us.

ON NAD+ / ASK ABOUT MY NOTES

Curious about NAD+? Ask what firsthand observations I can share. I’ll tell you what I’ve actually used and tracked, and what questions remain open.

01 / FOLLOW THE QUESTION

What do we actually know?

Open the question you came with. Each answer links to the study or agency document behind it.

A 2019 pilot followed 11 healthy participants: eight received an NAD+ infusion and three received saline. Researchers measured NAD+ and related compounds in blood and urine over hours. They did not test whether people felt less fatigued, functioned better, or aged more slowly. A change in a lab marker cannot answer those questions on its own.

02 / THE EVIDENCE LENS

Three things to keep separate.

01

Cellular role

NAD+ helps normal metabolism happen. That is biology, not a clinical outcome for a wellness product.

02

Measured level

Blood or urine levels can show what happened to a compound. They do not show whether someone feels or functions better.

03

Form and route

An oral precursor and a direct injection are different interventions. Evidence and safety findings do not transfer automatically.

03 / BEFORE YOU BELIEVE A CLAIM

Three good questions
to ask next.

  1. Was the outcome a blood marker, or did people actually feel or function better?
  2. Was the study about NAD+ itself or a precursor such as NR or NMN, and by which route?
  3. How was injectable quality assessed, and what safety information exists for that exact product?

For a decision about your own health, bring these questions to a licensed clinician who knows your history.

THE RECEIPTS

Go to the source.

These are starting points for checking the claims. A personal observation or a change in a lab marker cannot establish a product’s benefits or safety.
